The Resident Evil 5 Demo is available for download on PSN and XBOX Live and the game will be released for the PS3 and XBOX360 ONLY (The Wii can't handle it) on March 14th 2009. I've played the demo many, many times, both as Chris Redfield and as Sheva, I can't fucking wait to get the game!
The game is a bit controversial since it's one of the first major games where the people that you kill are predominantly Black, African to be more specific. That, coupled with the way the non-zombified Africans are portrayed in the game, caused some people to call the game racist but I think that's baloney. Plenty of games have whites, latinos, middle easterners, and asians as the enemy targets, so why not blacks? In the last Resident Evil you got to go through Europe slaughtering European zombies, this time its African zombies in Africa. You can't set a game in Sub Saharan Africa and then have all the townspeople be white. Well maybe you could but then that WOULD be racist... Kind of like when Sidney Toler and Warner Oland played Charlie Chan.
The gameplay is pretty intense and the graphics simply blow me away. Like most visual art, it's subjective and can be taken in many different ways. This is my personal take on what I know about the game so far: A roided-out muscle stud and his bad-ass sidekick, tear up villages and murder zombies, all played out in high-def. goodness - What more could an avid gamer ask for?

Yeah... My Boyfriend is biting at the bit for this game. He says he's been on pins and needles waiting for it since 2004 When RE4 came out.
If I disappear for a week come March... He's got me waiting on him hand and foot while he plays this game.
Doesn't matter what culture you kill, someone will call it racist. And if you exclude that culture, you're racist again.
The pictures that have been shown are pretty graphical. This is the age of technical advances. This will have a proper storyline, and closed-minded people will think that this is a racist game. There are probably some black people who play and enjoy this game. If that's the case, it cannot be racist. It would be physically impossible. Resident Evil is supposedly a very popular game, so criticism against it would be unlikely.

I blew through RE4 which was a Gamecube exclusive at the time...now Capcom has fucked us Nintendo gaymers up the ass...and not in the good way.
So the question is...do I buy an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3?

Actually Charlize Theron is from South Africa, so there are white south africans. They could have mad an effort for the game to not be a white strapping male shooting blacks in the head. If it is just about zombies, they could have made them black and white, as I have proven there are white south africans. They clearly made it a point to have whites shooting blacks in the head.
Chadwick as much as I am a Macphile I would suggest getting the XBox360 especially since it appears Square Enix is no developing for it as well. Sony really blew it by discontinuing their backwards compatibility.
I played the demo multiple times too, and I agree, fun!!! That and Chris Redfield is super sexy.. and I might die a few times from staring at his ripped bod too long.

I love this demo, it was a little hard at first but I can't wait for the game now! I just wish you could play online co-op with your friends instead of it just randomly finding someone on line. And I prefer playing chris, just due to the orientation of him on the screen. Playing with Sheva on the right hand side is wierd. Can't wait to fight Wesker!
I'm black and I don't think it's racist in the least bit. A zombie is a zombie is a zombie. I don't really care what color it is. The creators are just making the game believable. There might be white zombies later on in the game. Maybe there won't. I don't really care. I'm going to play the hell outta this game either way.
Shoot! Love this demo and I love RE ever since I played RE4. Damn, can't wait for RE5. The sound and the graphic is awesome. You can feel like you are in that game. And it is DEFINITELY not RACIST! It's just a game..*winks*~
